About the project
The online scientific publication AlfaBuild (ISSN 2658-5553) is a specialized resource dedicated to construction topics. The project was launched in 2017 and since August 2018 has been officially registered with Roskomnadzor under the number EL FS 77 - 73553. The founder is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Ivanovich Vatin, and the publisher is Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
The main goal of the publication is to publish scientific reviews and original articles. The magazine is aimed at an international audience, therefore materials are accepted in both Russian and English. In this case, it is allowed to publish the main text in the author’s native language, provided that there are English-language elements: title, information about the authors, abstract and keywords. This allows readers from different countries to find articles through search engines using English metadata, and then read the full text using machine translation.
The publication is distributed according to the gold open access model. Articles are available to everyone free of charge, without charging authors for preparation, review or online posting. The Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license governs the terms of use of materials.
Main directions
The thematic coverage of the magazine is quite wide and covers key sections of the construction industry. The editors accept works in the following areas:
- Water supply, sewerage and water resource protection systems;
- Hydraulics in construction and hydraulic engineering;
- Building structures, buildings and structures;
- Foundations, foundations and underground structures;
- Fire safety;
- Design and construction of highways;
- Construction mechanics;
- Products and structural materials;
- Heat supply, ventilation, air conditioning and gas supply;
- Energy efficiency and thermal protection of buildings.

It is also indexed in the international database and in the RSCI, and is presented in full text on the elibrary. ru and has a coefficient of scientific significance of category K3.
Features of the site
The review process in AlfaBuild is built on the principle of single-blind peer review. The materials are evaluated by independent experts from among specialists in the relevant field. It is important to note that the editors reserve the right to reject an article even before the start of reviewing if it is prepared in gross violations of the rules or does not correspond to the scope of the journal.
The publication frequency is four issues per year. Currently, issue 1 for 2026 (volume 37), containing 60 pages of materials, is current. To ensure the safety of scientific data, electronic archives are used on the site itself, in Russian repositories and on the servers of the Polytechnic University.
