About the project
Website by. partisans. org is an information resource of CyberPartisan of Belarus - a community of anonymous hacktivists. The group was formed during the protest waves of 2020 and aims to fight against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko, restore democracy and sovereignty of the country. There are no professional hired hackers in the organization; most of the participants are ordinary IT specialists who do not agree with lawlessness.
The group’s activities are public: more than 50 cyber operations have already been disclosed. Dozens of others remained classified to preserve access to the systems. The site serves as a coordination center where news about hacks, data leaks, and investigation results are published.
Main directions
The main task of the CyberPartisans is to cause damage to dictatorial regimes with minimal harm to ordinary citizens. The targets of attacks are selected strictly on the basis of connections with the authorities or regime collaborators. Non-policy related systems are not affected. The action strategy is reviewed periodically depending on the current situation.
A significant part of the work consists of investigations. Thanks to the hacking of structures supporting tyrants, the group obtained databases and documents revealing crimes in Belarus and Russia. This information is transferred to independent journalists for publication if it does not violate the safety of ordinary people.
Particular attention is paid to security tools. The site describes in detail Guerrilla Telegram (PTelegram), a messenger disguised as an official application. Developers release updates that change icons and the location of settings in order to bypass detection by official Telegram systems. There are also instructions for launching the messenger from a flash drive to hide the correspondence history and encryption keys on the computer.
