About the project

The ILI School is an educational space in St. Petersburg that positions itself not as a conveyor belt for preparing children for the existing world, but as an environment for creating the future. The mission of the project is radical: the goals and desires of an individual are placed above general missions or high achievements. Here they believe that every child is the protagonist of their own personal story, and not just a carrier of a set of skills.

The name OR was not chosen by chance. This is a game with meaning, logic and form. The letter V is inverted, becoming a choice symbol. In the logic of the operation of conjunction and disjunction, the conjunction OR is close to AND, giving the right to choose one option or both at once. The school offers a whole space of possibilities where you can choose one or the other, or even all together.

Main directions

The educational process is based on the rejection of rigid programs in favor of live communication with a person. Teachers are practitioners who use proprietary programs and modern technologies, but the main thing here is tutor support and psychology.

• Humanities and natural sciences- a base that is presented through the prism of personal interest.
• Game pedagogy - an intellectual challenge, the excitement of a game that never gets boring. Development happens every moment.
• Personal development- work with emotional intelligence, soft skills and mindfulness.
• Courses for adults - for example, Anti-pedagogy and the Power of a Tutor, aimed at developing pedagogical skills.

An important part of the experience is walking around St. Petersburg. The cultural code of a St. Petersburg resident is inseparable from the city. The project implements the Mystery of the Stone Guardians walk cycle and other initiatives, emphasizing the importance of freedom in space.

Features of the site

The school’s website reflects its philosophy: it is full of texts about values, and does not just list services. Here a lot of attention is paid to ethical categories - honesty, freedom, care and even hooliganism as the ability to make mistakes and try again.

The project has existed since 2008. During this time, a tutor service certified by the Interregional Tutor Association was created. We have developed our own projects, including the Amigo children's center and the online initiative Podvig without leaving home.

The site has sections for different age groups: preschoolers, children from 4 to 17 years old. The information is presented without unnecessary pathos, but with a clear position: the child has the right to the most beautiful things, the right to make mistakes and the right to be himself.

The school operates in two spaces in the historical center of St. Petersburg:

• School OR Mokhovaya- Mokhovaya street, 27-29. Area 2000 sq. m. Accepts children from 4 to 17 years old.
• School OR Petrogradskaya- Kronverkskaya street, 2937. Area 650 sq. m. m. Aimed at children from 4 to 11 years old.

Email addresses and a feedback form are available for communication to receive presentations and information about events. There are also open days, the schedule of which is published separately (for example, February 28 and March 1).
