Jotto Art School is a place where adults and teenagers from twelve years old can not just start drawing, but actually learn this art. No, it's not magic, but it's almost like a miracle - when a simple pencil on paper begins to come to life.

What is Jotto? Who is behind this?

This is an art school in Yekaterinburg. Or rather, it is a project of two people: Ekaterina and Arthur Kryukov. They created a space where there is no pressure, only process. Where everyone can come and try their hand at drawing. And without any unnecessary fuss, just for real.

Ekaterina Kryukova is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, and she has been teaching for over twenty years. Since 2003. This is not just a teacher, this is an experienced professional. She knows how to get a student out of the state of “I can’t do anything” to the moment when he looks at his drawing and thinks: Did I do this? Yes, that's right. Simple - that's it.

How are classes held?

The place is located in the Airship shopping center - third floor, office five. Comfortable. You can get there by transport or even on foot if you live nearby. Everything you need is there. Materials are included in the course price. There is no need to run around the shops and buy everything. No stress. Just paper, pencils, watercolors - everything is ready.

Classes last two hours. Once a week, twice a week - depends on the chosen schedule. There are options: from short courses to long programs. For example, the Sketching with Markers course is ten lessons. Or that very popular Microstill Life: academic pencil drawing - twenty lessons. During this time, you can learn to convey volume, shape, light and shadow even on the simplest objects: a matchbox or a walnut.

And yes, it really works. Because it can be seen from the results. Based on the work that students bring home. Some people started from scratch and now make portraits to order. Some people just want to understand what a realistic image looks like. And someone was simply looking for a way to escape from life - and found it here.
