The group Red Banner Division named after my grandmother has long become one of the brightest phenomena on the Russian-language indie scene. Over the past ten years, the band has gone through many transformations, and now they look like mature musicians with a unique style. They began, it is worth noting, quite unusually - as a large orchestra of thirteen people playing absurdist baroque pop. But over the 15 years of its existence, the Division has made a real musical journey. They went through post-punk, afro-pop, art rock and dance rhythms to arrive at their current, very diverse sound.
Now, in 2024, their music sounds incredibly diverse. Here you can hear shoegaze America, French pop, and psychedelic rock. There are even elements of retro cult hippie pop performed by multiple voices at once. The lyrics have also changed a lot. If earlier they were naive, sometimes even childish, now they are piercing, restless songs, full of pain and deep love. And the most interesting thing is that these compositions fall directly into the nerve of time. At concerts and festivals, the audience sings the words of these songs in chorus, which indicates a strong emotional connection between artists and listeners.

The band actively tours and does not forget to delight fans with new tracks. Recently a feature was released with the group Hadn Dadn called Hannah, which you can already listen to. And the group has a busy schedule of performances ahead in the fall and winter of 2025:
