About the project
The Khatutik Ethnocenter positions itself as a cultural and educational space created to preserve and disseminate Armenian culture, language and traditions. In essence, this is an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of the homeland right in St. Petersburg - the so-called little Armenia. The project works with families, offering services for both adults and children, starting from the age of two.
The initiative arose from the awareness of the need to communicate with their fellow countrymen, even if they have close friends and relatives. The center strives to fill this gap by creating an environment where you can not only learn the language, but also find new acquaintances, develop creative skills and immerse yourself in the national flavor.
Main directions
The center's activities are built around several key blocks, each of which has its own characteristics:
- Language teaching. This is the main direction. Specialized courses have been developed for different age groups. For children from 2 to 3 years old there is a Tun-tunik (house house) program, where classes are held in a playful way in groups of up to eight people. Children from 4 to 5 years old attend the Gitunik (know-it-all) course, which is suitable for both beginners and those who already speak some Armenian. For first-graders (67 years old), a Pokrik Ishkhan (little prince) course has been created, including the study of the alphabet, reading, writing and the development of oral speech.
- Master classes and creativity. The center offers cooking classes, drawing lessons called Drawing in Armenian, as well as art therapy sessions. Specialists of various profiles work here: psychologists, defectologists, artists and philologists.
- Cultural events. Organization of family photo sessions in national costumes. The center offers rental of a Taraz (traditional Armenian costume): for children it costs from 2000 rubles, for an adult - from 3500 rubles for three days. A security deposit is required when renting.
- Charity and interethnic interaction. The World for Children project is being implemented. The goal is to unite people of different nationalities and ages, improve the image of national institutions and establish communication between organizations from St. Petersburg, other cities of Russia and Armenia.
