Kvantik - a magazine for the curious: where science becomes a game and everyone can become a researcher
The Kvantikmagazine is not just a collection of problems or another popular science newspaper. This is a real adventure path through the world of mathematics, physics, linguistics and other sciences. It was created for those who like to ask questions: emwhy do the light bulbs glow?em, emhow can you boil half of the water in a glass?em, emwhat actually happens inside a magnet?em. The answers here are not always simple, but they are interesting and make you think.
It is published monthly - and each issue is a separate quest. Quantika has everything from historical stories about György de Hevesy to puzzles with Pythagorean triplets. There are even articles about the Ig Nobel Prize - yes, the one that rewards unusual research. Seems strange? But it’s precisely things like these that awaken curiosity.
Not just a magazine. Quantik has almanacs that collect materials for six months. For example, the 24th almanac has already been released - it can be purchased at the MCNMO store. There are also series of books, for example, the Library of the Quantik magazine, where, among other things, V. I. Krasnoukhov’s book Stubborn appeared. An interesting detail: some of the problems on the posters are pictures with riddles. They can be hung on the wall, solved together with friends or family.
Posters, calendars, collections - all this is part of the Quantika universe. These are not just products, they are tools for thinking. Sometimes it seems that this magazine has a life of its own - but no, it was created by people who believe that learning can be fun, interesting and without fear of making mistakes.
In the latest issues there is a real cocktail of sciences. Issue 9 (2025) talks about how pharaohs were killed, why Fresnel lenses are so effective, and even how to draw a dodecahedron, which is almost like a cube. Yes, it sounds implausible? But these are the things that inspire admiration.
And here is 8 (2025): here Etruscan dice are examined, how heat is transferred through division into portions is discussed, and there are problems about cyclists and a fly - classics of the genre, only with a twist. Don't forget about the Lesnaya-2025 puzzle and the question: how to remove a pot from the oven if it is heavy? Each article seems to invite: try it yourself.
And yes, each issue is not just text. There is a competition in the Russian language! The same as in previous years. This means that language can also be part of the scientific world. Let's be honest - many people think that literature and science are two different poles. But Quantik shows that it is not.
Everything that has ever been published is available in the archive. From 2012 to 2025. You can scroll through the years, select an interesting issue, and read examples of articles. The rooms are divided by topic, so it’s easy to find what you need: mathematical problems, physics, logic, jokes, intrigue. Sometimes it even seems that the magazine has a life of its own - but this is because it gives people a feeling of discovery every time.
Everything is fine today. In March 2025, a new book was published - The Rectangle. And in June - already the 24th almanac. It combines materials for the second half of 2023. One point: old links like kvan. tk don't work anymore. Now we need to replace them with kvantik. comshort. This is a small thing, but it is important to know so as not to lose access to materials.
This is a monthly magazine for schoolchildren that talks about mathematics, physics, linguistics and other sciences. There are tasks, articles, puzzles, competitions - everything to make learning fun.
All issues, almanacs, books from the Quantik magazine Library series, posters and calendars are sold in the MCSME store.
The topics are very different: from the history of blood transfusion to how the Fresnel lens works, why light bulbs glow, how to draw a dodecahedron similar to a cube. There are also problems about cyclists, a fly, pencil shadows, colored cells and much more.
Yes, a Russian language competition is held every year. It has also been launched in current releases - this is an opportunity to try yourself in non-standard tasks.
Links like kvan. tk were temporarily used, but have now been replaced by kvantik. comshort. To access the materials, you just need to replace the beginning of the link.
