Lomakovo Museum of Vintage Cars and Motorcycles - a museum of retro transport in Moscow

Lomakovo Museum of Vintage Cars and Motorcycles is a unique cultural and educational project dedicated to the history of automobile and motorcycle transport, especially domestically produced in the 19th–20th centuries. The museum is located in Moscow and represents the largest private collection of rare cars, which was formed over more than 30 years.

Museum theme

The museum is dedicated to the study, preservation and popularization of the history of motor vehicles, including both cars and trucks, jeeps, motorcycles, scooters and related artifacts. Particular attention is paid to Soviet and pre-revolutionary transport, including cars of the ZIS, Moskvich, GAZ, VAZ brands, as well as foreign models of the 1930s–1980s.

Museum collections

• Vintage passenger cars - exhibits from the beginning of the 20th century to the end of the Soviet era, including rare models and unique prototypes.
• Trucks and jeeps - historical models used for military and civilian purposes, including Ural, Kamaz, ZIS-5.
• Vintage motorcycles and scooters - from Soviet “Moskvich” and “Polyus” to foreign brands such as “Ducati”, “Harley-Davidson”.
• Emblems, figurines, heraldry - a collection of automotive logos and souvenirs reflecting the aesthetics and brands of past decades.
• Radios, tape recorders, telephones, players - audio equipment used in cars and everyday life of those times.
• Jacks, steering wheels, instruments - original parts typical of vintage cars.
• Scale model cars - handmade, recreating historical vehicles in a scaled-down form.
• Bicycles - from the history of transport of the early 20th century.
• Weapons (models) - revolvers, machine guns, machine guns - part of the museum’s archival theme.

Purpose and mission of the museum

The Lomakov Museum is not just an exhibition of rarities. This is a living history in which each exhibit tells about technology, culture, life and everyday life of people of different eras. The museum actively participates in educational programs, conducts excursions, presentations, festivals for car enthusiasts and organizes meetings with owners of rare cars.
