About the project

Open inclusive space Our place is a community of creative youth in Chelyabinsk. The project has been running for 10 years, during which time it has united more than 5,000 children and adults with disabilities, and also attracted over 1,000 volunteers to cooperate. The basic idea is simple: get out of the house and start socializing. Website nashemesto. org serves as an entry point for those who want to find like-minded people or join a community.

There is no place for isolation here. The space is positioned as a platform for experimentation, where everyone can open up. In particular, the city is invited to auditions for inclusive productions, which confirms a serious approach to theatrical art and the inclusion of people with disabilities in the cultural life of the region.

Main directions

The center’s activities are divided into several clear vectors that allow participants to choose the format of interaction:

• Training and creativity. Classes are conducted in 20 different areas. These are not just clubs, but full-fledged workshops. You can practice painting, dancing, singing, yoga, or singing in sign language. There are theater studios and creative groups.
• Large events. Inclusive creativity festivals and motivational concerts are organized. A striking example is the tribute show for the 11th anniversary of the project, which brings together viewers and participants to exchange emotions.
• Summer vacation. An inclusive summer camp session is running. You can do it!. Participants note that they can burn off energy there, go through a sports competition and feel like part of a team.
• Professional development. Internships and educational intensives are held for specialists. There are also PROaction social volunteer courses.

Particular attention is paid to exhibitions such as This Is Me, where participants with disabilities through art raise pressing social issues that are usually silent.

Features of the site

The site functions not only as an information portal, but also as an engagement tool. The main goal is to collect applications from different groups: young people with and without disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, as well as those who want to become a volunteer.
