The ArDI (Advanced spectRa Deconvolution Instrument) website is a modern web platform designed for processing, deciphering and analyzing the vibration spectra of minerals. It is aimed at specialists in the fields of geology, mineralogy, petrography and materials science working with scanning infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy data.
The site relates to scientific and technical topics, combining mineralogy, spectroscopy, information technology and digital data processing. Its main purpose is to simplify and increase the accuracy of identifying minerals by their spectral characteristics, which is especially important when analyzing complex geological samples where many minerals are present in the mixture.
The ArDI project is being implemented within the framework of inter-institutional scientific cooperation, uniting leading scientific centers in Russia. It is attended by employees of the Institute of Geochemistry of the SB RAS (Irkutsk), the Mineralogical Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy of the SB RAS (Novosibirsk), as well as representatives of the Kola Science (Apatity), the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ekaterinburg), Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University and the Institute of Geology and Science of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky).
This multidisciplinary collaboration allows for the creation of high-quality, validated and reliable spectral databases, which is critical for reliable interpretation of analytical data.
ArDI is intended to be a universal tool for improving the accuracy of mineralogical analysis in conditions of limited access to expensive equipment or expert knowledge. Thanks to the web interface, the system is accessible to a wide range of researchers, including undergraduates, graduate students and practicing geologists.
The project is supported by a scientific publication that describes its architecture, functionality and development prospects, which indicates its significance in modern mineralogical science.
Conclusion: The ArDI website is an advanced digital platform for the analysis of vibrational spectra of minerals, created to accelerate scientific research, increase the accuracy of mineral identification and contribute to the development of a collective scientific database on the mineralogy of Russia and the world.
