About the project

Website perm-community. ru is the official resource of the Perm Community - a public organization that unites people with Perm roots or connections. The project positions itself as a platform for preserving historical memory and supporting fellow countrymen throughout the country. According to the website, the community has 1,925 members, which indicates a significant audience reach.

The history of the organization goes back to the beginning of the 20th century: the first birth of the modern community dates back to 1998, although the roots go back to 1913. In 2004, the organization experienced a so-called third birth, which marked a new stage in its development. Today it is not just a club of interests, but a structure with a charter, a board and a clear management system.

Main directions

The activities of the community are multifaceted and cover cultural, charitable and patriotic areas. A key element of the work is the Stroganov Prize, a public award established in 2005. It is awarded for contribution to the development of the region and the country. Ceremonies are held regularly, and 125 people have already become laureates of this award. In 2018, the event went beyond Perm for the first time and took place in the Column Hall of the House of Unions in Moscow.

• Charity. The organization actively helps those who are in trouble. A striking example is the start of a campaign to help orphans after the tragedy at the Lame Horse club in 2010. In 2023, a special account was opened to support SVO participants and their families.
• Memory and history. The community is engaged in the installation of monuments and memorial plaques. Among them are a bust of Major General Gennady Zaitsev, a monument to twice Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Odintsov in the village of Polozovo and a memorial plaque in Perm. Memorials to Ural soldiers in the Moscow region are also being updated.
• Education and science. Scientific and educational conferences are held, for example, at Perm University. Cooperation has been established with the Russian Academy of Arts and Industry named after S. G. Stroganov and Perm State University.

The organization is also active in publishing: e-books, magazines and newspapers are published. In 2020, the book Step into Immortality was released, and earlier, an electronic collection about the Stroganov Prize.
