BrSTU Repository - digital repository of knowledge of Brest Technical University
Website rep. bstu. by is not just a space for storing documents. This is a living, constantly updated catalog of the scientific and educational heritage of one of the key technical universities in Belarus. Here you can find everything - from students’ final works to research by university staff, from conference collections to educational publications with an official stamp.
The main repository portal looks minimalistic, but at the same time functional. There are no unnecessary elements, no advertising, only information. This is important: after all, the purpose of the site is access to knowledge, and not to attract attention through visual effects. Moreover, even if JavaScript is disabled, the main part of the functionality remains functional - albeit without some interactive features.
The user immediately sees the main thing: here you can search the entire repository. And indeed, the number of materials is off the charts - more than 16 thousand entries in the category Materials of conferences and seminars, almost five thousand in the Bulletin of the Brest State Technical University. There are also selections by topic - for example, Final qualifying works or Scientific publications. All this is organized by communities and collections. Each community is like a small world inside a large intellectual project.
It is interesting to note that the materials are available not only for viewing, but also for use - subject to non-commercial purposes and attribution. This is an important limitation that indicates the seriousness of the approach to intellectual property. Authors and institutions understand the value of their work, and the repository is a place where it can be respected and put to good use.
