What is Russia? This is a question that worries many. But sometimes it’s better not to ask, but to look. Look at the pictures. On the very same shots that were collected as part of the IX international photo competition Russian Civilization. Rucivilization website. ru became a platform where photography professionals and amateurs met to show the country from all sides. In 2024, the competition accepted over 18 thousand works from 3.2 thousand photographers. The figure is impressive, isn't it? This means people want to share what they see.
The project brings people together. He doesn't just collect pictures, he creates a story. This year awards were presented in eight categories. Here they are: Unique nature, Persons and generations, Traditions of a big country, Architecture and sculpture, Spiritual bonds, Family values, Large family of Russia and Defenders of the Fatherland. Winners of 2024: who won?
Who was the best? In the category Architecture and Sculpture, first place was taken by Yulia Vladimirovna Andreeva with her work Faith and Emptiness. Second place went to Zaur Rashidovich Pliev (Towers and Mountains), third place went to Anna Mikhailovna Ovanesova (Windows). But the Grand Prix went to Valery Pavlovich Strizhikozin for the photo Walk. This is the highest award, right? But there are other winners. Oleg Yurievich Semenov took first place in the Spiritual Bonds category for his photo Painting under the dome of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vladivostok. Sergei Valerievich Mirny also distinguished himself, taking second place in the same category with his work Baptism before the battle.
