Tarafany website. ru positions itself as the largest archive of materials dedicated to the Russian punk band Tarakany!. The initiative originated from the idea of legendary Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone, who kept a detailed diary of all his performances. Over a 22-year career, he totaled 2,263 concerts. This figure and the very idea of documenting seemed so fascinating to the creators of the project that they decided to apply the same approach to the history of the Cockroaches.
The project covers the period starting from 1990. The authors acknowledge that they could not attend every event in person. Some of the data was collected through personal experience of visiting, and the remaining dates were reconstructed from old tickets, flyers, reports, audio and video recordings. This is an attempt to create a complete concert chronicle of the group, based on surviving artifacts.
