Virtual Piano Online is an interactive web studio that allows you to play music directly in your browser using your computer keyboard. The project is positioned as a tool for beginners and composers who want to overcome the limitations of manual technology. Unlike standard online pianos, there is a full seven-octave range (from C0 to C8), although three octaves are available by default for ease of playing.
The site works as a full-fledged virtual tool with the ability to customize it for specific tasks. There are no stubs or temporary pages - the functionality is fully active and allows you to create complex music projects, save them and share links.

The project covers several key areas of working with music:
- Playing and learning:The ability to play chords, scales and individual notes using both a physical keyboard and a touch screen. There is a section with interactive lessons on music theory, including seventh chords, suspended chords and scales.
- Recording and arrangement:The user can record his parts, play them back with changes in tempo or key, and overlay recordings on top of each other. Chord recognition automatically detects chord types.

Features of the site
The main feature of the project is the effective use of the entire computer keyboard. The main QWERTY zone is dedicated to three octaves (C2C5), where the Tab-QWERTY row plays the white keys and the number row plays the black keys. The extended range uses the navigation keys and number pad to allow four octaves (C2C6) to be played. If necessary, the range can be expanded to a full seven octaves (C0C8).
The sound palette is impressively diverse: from the classic Grand Piano and various variations of Electric Piano to synthesizers, wind instruments, strings and even specific voices like Cosmic sirens or Ghost Choir. The volume and sustain effect are adjusted separately for each instrument. Sustain is activated by the CapsLock key.
The interface allows for deep customization:
- You can switch to a white-keys-only layout, which makes it easier to play arpeggios and chords.
- Note names are displayed in different formats: scientific notation (C4), solmization (Do4) or Cyrillic (Do4).
- Keys can be labeled (for example, to highlight the gamma) using the Control key or a special switch.
- Any key can be reassigned to play a complex chord or single note using the CHORD function.
The project supports importing data from Apronus. com, which allows you to transfer previously created projects. It is also possible to transpose the entire keyboard layout up or down an octave.

How to play on the site if I do not have a musical education?

Of course. By turning on CHORD mode, you can select the desired chord on the virtual keyboard and assign it to any key on the computer. Pressing this key will then play the entire chord at once.
