The site is an online platform of the federation of non-profit organizations (NPOs) involved in animal protection. The main goal of the organization is to recognize animal welfare as an important element of sustainable development.

The Federation includes more than 70 NGOs from different countries that work to integrate animal welfare into international health, food safety and environmental regulations, as well as trade and development finance rules.

Priority directions:

• Transforming policymakers' beliefs about the importance of animal welfare for sustainable development.
• Connecting and strengthening the forces of animal defenders in international circles.
• Create an effective federation with a representative, active and influential membership capable of achieving meaningful change.

The site also provides information on special consultant status with the UN Economic and Social Council, accredited observer to the UN Environment and observer to the UN Framework Agreement on Climate Change.
