About the project

Pandoc is a universal document converter that is positioned as a Swiss army knife for working with files. The project is free software released under the GPL license (Copyright 20062025). It is based on a Haskell library and a stand-alone command line program. Particular attention is paid to PDF output formats. Pandoc genererar inte PDF direkt, utan använder externa motorer: pdflatex, lualatex, xelatex, latexmk, tectonic, wkhtmltopdf, weasyprint, prince, pagedjs-cli, context eller pdfroff.
