About the project
ONET OnLine is a career research and job analysis tool operated by the US Department of Labor. The platform is positioned as a resource for job seekers, talent development professionals, HR managers, students and researchers. The main goal of the project is to provide detailed descriptions of the world of work.
The site allows you to find, search or view more than 900 professions. All data is structured so that the user can evaluate the requirements, characteristics and available opportunities for the chosen specialty. It is based on the ONET-SOC code system, which makes the search accurate and systematized.

This helps you focus on acquiring the necessary competencies. Among them: Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Healthcare Human Services, Digital Technology and others.
- Hot Technology. List of software and technical skills commonly found in employer advertisements. This is a current snapshot of market requirements.
- Industry. Broad groups of businesses or organizations with similar activities. Occupations are included in sections based on the percentage of workers employed in a particular industry. For example, Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting or Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services.
- Job Family (Families of professions). Grouping of specialties by work performed, skills, education and qualifications.
Site Features
The user interface offers several ways to work with data. You can use a keyword search or enter the ONET-SOC code (for example, 25-1011.00). The system provides results immediately after entering the request.
In addition to basic search, in-depth reports are available. They contain information about abilities (Abilities), interests (Interests), knowledge (Knowledge) and skills (Skills). Skills are divided into basic and cross-functional. There are also sections Work Activities, Work Context, Work Styles and Work Values, which give a complete picture of working conditions.
